Meet The Team – Lorraine

29 March 2024 | Blog

Did you know that The HR Booth runs in the family? Well it does! This week we spoke to Lorraine, our Business Support Manager, but also Alistair’s wife. Find out more about her work behind the scenes.

P.S. Alistair take note of answer no.7!

1. How long have you worked for The HR Booth?  Alistair is my husband, so I have been involved since the start.  My involvement started off small as I had a full time job when the company first started, however over the years I have become more involved (and more busy!).  The HR Booth is all about ensuring part time mums feel supported, so after my youngest son Danny was born, I decided to leave my full time job in Edinburgh and work part time for my hubby’s company (and part time locally elsewhere too).

2. What’s your job role and what does a typical day look like?  I work part time for the business as I have another part time job as well.  I do all things Accounts for The HR Booth.  In addition to this I support the team with any Admin and Recruitment tasks when required.

3. What can you support clients with?  I tend to work more in the background with the company but when I’m needed, I can support clients with invoices, preparing reports for meetings, setting up interviews, taking minutes at meetings, anything at all really.

4. What do you enjoy most about The HR Booth?  The people and the culture.  The team of people in place are lovely to work with and work hard for the business.  The team fit into the culture of the business.

5. If you could visit any country in the world, where would you go and what would you want to experience there?  Northeast Asia is on the bucket list!  Would love to experience their culture and food.  I would also love to visit more of Australia.

6. If you were stuck on a deserted island, what 3 items would you bring with you? Apart from my family, I would choose an endless supply of wine, endless supply of books, and I should probably say something sensible like sun protection.

7. If you could swap jobs with anyone in the office for a day, who would it be, and why?  Can I say Alistair so that I wouldn’t have to do any housework, washing etc?
