Flexible Workforce Development Fund

Skills Development Scotland have launched a flexible workforce development fund that’s available to all Scottish employers. The main purpose of the fund is to help businesses in Scotland to up-skill and also re-skill their staff. There are currently 3 different routes to access the fund depending on the training you require and the type of business you are. Businesses must only submit one application. In addition, these 3 routes are:

SME Route

College Training: Small to medium businesses can apply for up to £5,000 to access training opportunities with colleges and the Open University in Scotland. You can find out more about this route from the Scottish Funding Council.

Levy-paying employer routes

Levy-paying employers have two routes to explore:1. College Training: Levy-paying employers can apply for up to £15,000 to access training provided by colleges. You can find out more from the Scottish Funding Council.

2. Training by independent providers: If the training you require can’t be provided by colleges, you can apply for up to £15,000 for training delivered by independent training providers. However, this must be applied through Skills Development Scotland.
